Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken during my photography class. We were learning how to light paint using different sources of light. In this photo, I used glow sticks.Time
It was taken during the middle of the day. We found a classroom in one of the buildings at the college that I attend and we completely blocked all the light so that there would be nothing but darkness.Lighting
The only source of light used within this photo was glow sticks. The room was pitch black, all windows covered and flash turned off.Equipment
A Canon Rebel T5 was used with an 18-55 mm lens. It was shot at an aperture of 8 with the ISO at 400.Inspiration
Our assignment was to create something unique with light. My first instinct was to attempt to do something freaky. After a plethora of failed attempts, I finally created something that fit my criteria.Editing
I did not do any post processing on this photo. In my camera bag
My bag normally contains my 18-55 mm lens, along with extra SD cards and batteries.Feedback
I found that a pitch black room is optimal for images such as these. The flash must be turned off. To get this effect, I held two glow sticks in one hand and of in other. I turned the setting on the camera to a slow shutter speed, stood in front of the camera, and moved the glow Sticks around in circles making sure not to cross paths with them.
