Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a rural property near a small town called Wakool in the Riverina, Australia.

Time

I was fortunate enough to have been working in a tractor late in the afternoon and I saw a huge storm coming. The sky was changing so quickly and I grabbed the camera and went up onto a balcony of a two storey home to capture this shot on sunset at 7.45pm in October.

Lighting

I wanted the viewers to get a realistic view as if they were caught up in the moment of this colourful display before the darkness of the storm just as the sunset. All natural lighting.

Equipment

I used a Canon Power Shot SX50 HS resting on railing of a balcony as I didn't have a Tripod.

Inspiration

I was amazed at the colours in the sky this storm was displaying before my eyes and had to capture this image to share with others.

Editing

This image has had no post processing other than being cropped.

In my camera bag

I am an amature phtographer and only carry my Canon SX50 HS, a clean soft cloth and a poncho.

Feedback

The weather was changing dramatically and the light was fading fast as the sun set for the day so I just had to take as many photos as possible in a short time frame.
