Behind The Lens

Location

Taken from the top of Quitinday Greenhills Formation in Camalig, Albay, Bicol Region, Philippines. A beautiful hidden paradise in the skies where one will trek a climb of about 800 steps and then this magical view. One of the reasons that will always make me want to go back to Bicol.

Time

Taken around 10:00 am, the wonderful breeze and peace offered a priceless calm. Of course there was the occasional strong wind that would make one grab on to whatever looks strongest haha!

Lighting

As a lover of natural light, I am very happy to share that I had no lighting equipment with me and so I simply made use of what was naturally available. :o)

Equipment

I had no special equipment, just my iPhone 6 :o)

Inspiration

I am a free spirit. One who believes in expressing myself in a most natural way. And so, wide open spaces and mysterious places captivate me. I let my imagination fly and know that they represent my dreams and goals. Breathing all these in help make my motivation stronger and realise just how much more there is to explore. Most of all, the amount of beauty to be thankful for.

Editing

For post-processing, I simply used a little contrast to get rid of the blur and slight saturation increase to bring out some strength in the greens. I used Snapseed. :o)

In my camera bag

Just my iPhone :o) I have a Nikon as well which I bring when I know it is safe to carry around heavy equipment.

Feedback

To be honest, I try not to think so hard. I just smile and shoot. I believe in a more natural flow. Special moments are not staged, they are captured magically and so the best advise I can give is to shoot from the heart. Feel it in your pulse. Relax and just see beauty. No equipment can ever teach anyone to see true beauty. Most of all, let your images be you. Don't try to copy or to look like someone else's work. Tell your own story. Believe me, someone is always watching. :o)
