Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken atop Mt Samat in Pilar, Bataan, Philippines.

Time

It was before sunset when i took this picture, I think at about 5:40pm. The sky is showing different hues and I wanted to capture all of it.

Lighting

This is a landscape shot, so i have to rely on natural light, in this case the light spread by the setting sun.

Equipment

This was shot using Canon 60D with 18-135mm IS Lens. I don't have a tripod when I took this so I had to rely on bracketing to capture the scene and the colors.

Inspiration

I only wanted to have a landscape shot of the area with the mountains in the background, and being there at sunset is just a bonus.

Editing

Yes, I did some post-processing, this image is a combination of 3 shots, what we called HDR, was set in-camera and post processed or combined in photoshop.

In my camera bag

What I have in my bag is my reliable Canon 60D, with my nifty-fifty 1.8 and my all around 18-135mm IS lens. I also have a Montana c800 ettl flash and Yongnuo transmitters.

Feedback

For any aspiring landscape photographers, a piece of advise would be to learn your camera basics, and if you want to capture an HDR shot, better to have your camera on a tripod. :-)
