Location
This photo was taken along the Appalachian Trail while hiking in South Carolina.Time
I began my journey along the Appalachian Trail early morning around 6am, while I was hiking I came across this opening within the tree line and had a beautiful view with light fog in the air. This photo was taken around 7:00 am.Lighting
The angle in which the sun was rising created these beautiful rays against the mist in the air giving it a really unique flow of the landscape.Equipment
This image was taken with a Nikon D750, 150-600mm tamron lens, on a Promaster Professional tripod.Inspiration
I really enjoyed the lines of the landscape and the effect that the sun gave against the mist in the air that crisp morning.Editing
Most of the post-processing was done in Lightroom adjusting the levels of tone cure, highlights, shadows, etc. I then adjusted the sepia tone later in photoshop. In my camera bag
What typically is found in my bag is a Nikon D750 with a tamron 28-75mm lens, tamron 45mm prime lens, and a 14mm wide angle lens. I always make sure to pack my 100mm lee filter system with a ND 10 stop filter, my tripod, and shutter release. I also bring along any necessary cleaning equipment and extra SD cards. Sometimes if I have a friend along I'll pack up my back up Nikon D7000 for them to use and hopefully be inspired to pick up photography on their own!!Feedback
Get outdoors and hike!! Look for anything that intrigues you and don't rush the shot. Patience is a big thing and sometimes you may need to sit in one area to get that perfect shot with lighting, placement of the sun, etc.
