This Reddish Egret image was captured at a ground level photography field trip during the Galveston FeatherFest - held annually at the height of the Spring Migration and breeding season. He was "semi-canopy" fishing - a process by which he spreads his wings to block the sun so he can see the fish he's after in the surf.
