Hornets are known to make their larvae eat up tiny caterpillars which they collect and store in hollow tubes of their mud house. These hornets are very shy and difficult to shoot but somehow I manage to take few close macro shots. I was surprised to see the hornet ripping open the protective cover of the baby caterpillar and taking it out to take it to the mud house.
I was delighted to capture such activity which are rarely captured.
Shot with hand held magnifying glasses. No DSLR-SLR.
