This is a redwood grove just off the University of California campus at Berkeley. It was planted intentionally to serve as the backdrop and acoustics for an auditorium and theatre surrounded by trees. The ordering of the trees was created by human design, not as a result of natural processes. And, note that the trees are all roughly the same size, of equal development and spaced in lines with well-determined separation.
