Location
This was on the Baltic in Jurmala, Lativa.Time
I think this was around 7pm. It was in the summer, so the sun didn't set until around 11pm.Lighting
The position of the sun in the sky made this what it was. I didn't do much. ;-)Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 70D and a 17-55 2.8 IS.Inspiration
I was just taking some shots of the water and sky when I noticed the son of some friends was going into the water. He had never seen the ocean before, so I wanted to document his first dip for his parents.Editing
I brought down the exposure a bit and added some clarity in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I typically shoot with a Canon 70D and carry the 70-200 2.8 IS II with me as well as a the 50 1.4. It's not a light load-out but I'm a pretty big guy and just love the range I get with the long lens. I really like candida and while you would think shooting with a large white lens would limit your ability to be discrete, the live-view feature with the 70D helps a lot.Feedback
Keep your eyes open. I think a lot of photographers spend way too much time trying to "create" a shot. I think the best shots are captured and not manufactured.
