Welcome to ViewBug. I recall my first time across the Blue Ridge and seeing the heavy atural haze similar to this panorama. Keep sharing and learning to carry your vision into the image.

Behind The Lens

Location

The Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina at the top of the Flat Rock Trail.

Time

This was taken around noon on May 17th 2016.

Lighting

The lighting wasnt the greatest, but the clouds seemed to give more depth to the mountains which really "made" the photo, in my opinion.

Equipment

This was shot with a Sony a3000 using the kit lens and the panoramic setting as well as a tripod!

Inspiration

My husband and I spent our first anniversary traveling up The Blue Ridge Parkway towards Virginia. This was one of the stops we made and we sat here for about 2 hours just admiring the view and watching the clouds roll by.

Editing

I lightened the photo up a bit and added some contrast, but other than that nothing!

In my camera bag

I typically have my Sony a580 (my new camera, I sold the Sony a3000 since this photo was taken), a 50mm lens, a 75-300mm lens, flash diffusers, extra batteries and memory cards, and my cleaning kit.

Feedback

I highly recommend using the panoramic settings if you have them for these shots! Also i usually snap multiple photos of nearly anything I photograph, and there's always that ONE shot that comes out amazing. This was it!
