Old Wardour Castle was originally built in the 14th century before being severely damaged during the English Civil War in the 17th century. It ended up becoming a romantic ruin, and was incorporated into the grounds of New Wardour House. It was later used as a scene during "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" starring Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman.
