Behind The Lens

Location

I woke up when my wife went to work early July two years ago, the photo was taken out of my bedroom window I almost fell down the stairs going to get the camera! The view is across the Brede Valley towards Rye, East Sussex, which is on the hill.

Time

It was about 5am on an unusually sunny morning (we get them here in the UK occasionally!)

Lighting

I am totally self taught, that said I love this time of day and also sunset, the light is magical, especially after a cold or particularly humid night.

Equipment

I used a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ48, it was set to iA as I didn't know how to use the other settings at the time. I hand held the camera and pointed it out of the open window.

Inspiration

It was a vision sent for a camera! I felt and still feel blessed to see and better still take a photo of such an awe-inspiring view, the colours were very special and the scene was almost mystical.

Editing

None

In my camera bag

A spare memory card.

Feedback

The photo was taken from the heart at the moment it happened, I am self taught so this is the only advice I could give, other than saying you've got to be there to capture it!
