This photo is part of a series I've been working on over the last few weeks. It details, in self-portrait form (including my daughter), my life as a Mom. I wanted to provide an intimate look at what motherhood is like from my personal perspective and this project has done just that. My life is relatively uncomplicated, but it's beautiful. I used a tripod and timer for all of the shots in this series and that allowed me to interact with my daughter naturally while still capturing the moment. This shot shows the two of us applying make-up, well, Laura pretending to apply (she uses the soft end-meant for smudging-of one of my eyeliners). We do this anytime we need to go somewhere (this day it was the grocery store). Laura loves to pretend with my make-up and it makes me smile to see her do so.
