I took this at the Notting Hill Carnival in the Eighties with an old 35mm camera. I transposed the original on to a pattern derived from p hotos of inscriptions in Egypt to represent the continuity of black people in history and ways forward for black youth. (I am Roma, but the mother of my three children is black.)Time

I love the Carnival, and am stuck in London, and miss the Caribbean and Africa.Editing
Yes, I used mt laptop and an old Paintbrush system to develop the theme. In my camera bag
Merely an old (1990s) digital camera., and a laptop with an old Paintbrush system..Feedback
Do not worry about perfect machinery, imagination is all you need, and altering the originals on the computer really relies on aesthetic feeling not expensive equipment. My own artwork uses traditional forms which photography translates into images which I can work on with my simple laptop. The greatest art was produced with brushes and oilpaint, or chisels and lumps of stone.
