Behind The Lens

Location

Taking portraits has been such a custom when visiting a friend. either they ask me to or most of the times i am struck with inspiration that makes me come up with a few ideas and the result is portraits such as this one. this is also one of those times when i had visited my friend and glitter was in plain sight.

Time

Usually it is the sort of natural light during the day that just calls for a shot to be taken because you are deeply struck by it. when i took this picture the sun had nearly dropped and the pre evening fade was just the right moment to have been an influence.

Lighting

Most of it is natural lighting during dusk. as the blues and the warm tones assemble to merge into a dark night. the right is all natural light while i decided that the portrait may not be completed by a slight illumination from beneath and i used a phone's light for a more finished look.

Equipment

The only equipment was a phone for minimal light and my Canon SLR

Inspiration

A natural impulse when the light is too beautiful to ignore. i knew i had to have a subject for it to have it's real beauty captured.

Editing

The light at the time was so versatile that it gave several colours and shades to everything engulfed. i just had to bring it out by a bit of saturation.

In my camera bag

Usually i only have my phone and my yashica but it is at rare times that i have a camera that i borrow from a friend. yes equipment have such a great influence over your shots but more that that you need to be taken over by a sense of inspiration

Feedback

Just have an eye out for what strikes your fancy. usually there is a deep amount of regret whenever you let such moments pass by without even trying to capture them. just keep your eye out.
