Behind The Lens

Location

The picture is Whitby Abbey (Whitby) north east England and was used in "Bram Stokers" film "Dracula".

Time

This was taken in the late afternoon November 1st 2015

Lighting

The sun needed to be out, North East England in October was more than wishful thinking, it needed to be low in the sky and along with no wind making ripples the water it gave me a chance of a half decent picture.

Equipment

A Canon eos 450D camera with a 18-55 lens 40mm f11- 1/250 iso 1600 hand held.

Inspiration

The location and the beauty of the structure.

Editing

Not a great deal was done apart from a little toning down from the bright afternoon sun and a touch sharpening up was all that was needed.

In my camera bag

These days I now own a Canon 450D a 760D 2 lenses canon 18-55 mm and a Canon 55-250 mm a Manfrotto tripod and a polarising filter, spare camera batteries (4) remote control and lens wipes.

Feedback

Practice your craft whatever it may be, understand your equipment and it's capabilities, To me photography is about understanding light and all the wonderful things it can do.
