Location
Driving up to the visitor center at Mount Rainier National Park, I stopped to see what the sign said was a box canyon.Time
It was, as I recall, around 10:30 in the morning. As I was following the trail back from the box canyon (A disappointing destination!) I saw the fence further up on the hill. Leaving the trail brought me further up on the hill and presented me with this view.Lighting
Wish I could say that I did something to make the lighting special, but this was all provided by Mother Nature.Equipment
I was using a Sony Alpha 200 with a 55-70 mm kit lens at the time. No filters. I had just begun to use manual settings.Inspiration
I took the photo because I really felt a sense of peace and comfort at that moment.Editing
Minimal post processing was done to this image. It is as I captured it.In my camera bag
This photo was taken almost six years ago. What I had in my bag then is mostly gone, passed on to my daughter as she begins her journey into photography. My current camera is a Sony A-77II. My walk around lens is a Sigma 18mm - 300mm, f4.5.Feedback
I really love landscape photography, but I rarely have the time to scout out locations and set up shots. Most of what I do is done on a "What do you see right now" basis. Of course, that usually means that a majority of my images are somewhat ordinary. I also try and find a different perspective or unique angle. Just take advantage of what is offered. You just might be surprised at what you end up with.
