Behind The Lens

Location
I am a part-time dog walker and I walked 2 dogs who's owner is a musician and this is what you first see as you enter his apartment in Philadelphia.
Time
This was approximately mid-afternoon.
Lighting
I really just shot it in one take. I didn't think about it too much. I had the hallway light on and just snapped it.
Equipment
I snapped this with an android phone. I edited slightly with Aviary app.
Inspiration
I'm a musician/guitarist, also so I loved the look because of that. It came very natural. A line of guitars on the wall is a look most guitarists love.
Editing
I just did some slight editing with the photo editing app, 'Aviary'. Just enhanced it slightly.
In my camera bag
I just carry an iphone, an ipad and an android phone. Very basic. I think that this proves that it doesn't matter how basic or how fancy your equipment is, if you are an artist, you can create great art. I've done it with music. Myself and my songwriting partner have had nearly a dozen songs placed on network television programs from songs we wrote & recorded in his apartment. We also won 'Best Electronic Song' in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest this way in 2006.
Feedback
Whether I am capturing video for news outlets(I'm a freelance news videographer), snapping photos or writing songs, I always think in terms of what the average person would like. I never concern myself with fellow photographers, videographers or musicians because I feel they are often being competitive and will not compliment you even if they know it's good. So I create for myself and the common person who can enjoy art without judging or feeling competitive.
