Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Greece. It's of the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. I moved above the temple to include the beauty of the Parnassus Range.

Time

This was taken around mid day. I was so happy that there was actually some sun. Much of the rest of the trip was, unfortunately, cloudy.

Lighting

Nothing but sunlight in the mid day. I was really more concerned about how the mountains in the background would turn out. I thought it worked out well.

Equipment

My old Nikon FG went down right before the trip and finding someone to repair that 35 year old friend was tough. I couldn't get it done in time. I picked up a Sony HD digital at with a Zeiss lens. I only wish it had a wider angle. I just replaced my Nikon FG with a Nikon D3300.

Inspiration

I love taking landscapes and my Greek heritage pushed me to shoot this for my mom. She's never had the chance to visit Delphi. I really wanted her to see it!

Editing

Simply...I punched the color a little hoping the sky would contrast more with the mountains and the ruins.

In my camera bag

Now it's the new Nikon D3300. I've just picked up a great Tamron 18-270mm wide angle zoom. I most recently gave it a good workout in NYC. I'm still working on releasing some of those shots.

Feedback

Best comment I received as I reviewed some of my gallery shots, "How did you get all these shots with no people in them?" My answer and advice...be patient. It will be so worth it when the shot you pictured in your head finally appears on your camera screen.
