Rip van Winkle is the inspiration for this image. My mother used to read to me all the time when I was little and I remeber quite vividly that when she read me that tale, I was deliciously frightened that someday I might fall asleep in my fort and wake up having missed my life. I do think that in ways, we are so busy with our day to day activities, we may as well be asleep. We are so focused on getting things done that we may miss the simple joys in life.
