Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken outside my home, in the parking lot of my apartment building to be exact.

Time

It was about 4pm I decided to go outside after it had just stopped raining, and it looked safe to bring the camera out.

Lighting

The lighting is all naturally lit from the sky, it was a bright grey ocean of clouds that rolled in after a storm had occurred a couple minutes before.

Equipment

For my equipment, I only used two things; a canon t3 and a standard 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

I was walking around and saw my landlords boat on a trailer. This metal object seemed to be hanging off the boat and it made me curious. I got closer and saw this rusted chain so elegantly laying there so still but perfect. I took off my lens cover and turned the camera portrait and snapped a picture.

Editing

The only things done were to make the picture a little darker because I noticed the pictures on my camera come out so bright and at the time I only had the camera for 2 days.

In my camera bag

In my bag, I travel now with a bunch of things. I bring my canon t3, sd cards, 18-55mm lens 72-300mm lens and 50mm lens, and a tripod and lens hood.

Feedback

Be natural in your work and enjoy your time outside with your camera, its amazing to be able to capture a piece of time and show it to others. Don't worry so much about perfections and more on the subject and putting yourself into your work.
