It was around late afternoon time.Lighting
I use continuous soft box lighting. I have my windows blacked out when i am using the room as i find it easier if i have full control of the lighting. I use 3 soft boxes. 2 either side slightly facing the back to keep the background light and to stop shadows and 1 directly in front next to me pointing down on to the Dog.Equipment
I use a Nikon D3200 with the Nikon 35mm 1.8g, photogeek soft box lighting and the background is seamless paper from creativity backgrounds. I get all of my seamless paper from them.Inspiration
I love Pets and i love to capture their expressions, Dylan was very good and posed well here. I love taking photos of Pets so the owners have lasting memories of their pets.Editing
I always shoot raw so i will always post process. I normally just lift the shadows a bit and a little curves,highlights,contrast and sharpness adjustment.In my camera bag
I always use my Nikon D3200 but the lens depends on if im outside or inside the studio. If i am inside i always use my Nikon 35mm 1.8G lens. If i am outside i normally take my Nikon 50mm 1.8g or my Tamron 70-200 2.8 lenses. I always have spare SD cards and spare batteries on hand though.Feedback
When photographing Dogs my main tips are to keep to their level. Have lots of treats on hand and toys that make different noises. Never call their name ( they always move towards you and wont stay still) instead use a noisy toy or make random noises yourself. You will look silly but its all part of the fun. This helps to get that cute head tilt pose from a Dog. Keep it fun. If the Dog starts looking fed up, stop and take a quick break and then continue. Try to keep the focus on those eyes.
