Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at home, of one of our dogs, Walter.

Time

It was taken early in the afternoon. We get great light in this part of the house for most of the day

Lighting

For me, natural light is usually the easiest to work with. One aspect that I especially love about this photo is the shadow play of the light coming from the left.

Equipment

I took this photo with an IPhone 6 Plus. I actually get quite a lot of good shots with it and it is convenient because it is almost always close by.

Inspiration

I absolutely love taking pictures of our pets. Walter looked so peaceful so I laid down on the floor and took a few shots. I really love the depth of the shot and I was very happy with the different textures in the shot.

Editing

I used an iPhone app called Camera+ to edit this photo. Basically to just play with the depth a little.

In my camera bag

Normally I have a Sony Cybershot when I go out with plans to take photos. Its great because I can use their auto focus feature or adjust settings manually.

Feedback

I think that some of my best photos happen almost by accident. It is just a matter of sometimes looking at things with a watchful eye and trying to see things differently than they sometimes appear. It's a matter of taking the ordinary and looking at it from a different angle, like I did with his photo.
