Location
The photo was taken at Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA. I love to photograph dilapidated and abandoned buildings.Time
We went to ESP early in the day so we could cover the entire prison. There is so much history in this place. One of my favorite stories was the dog that had to serve time for killing a cat that belonged to the wife of the governor.Lighting
I used long exposure and brought my ISO up so I wouldn't have to use a flash.Equipment
I used a Nikon D300 with a 24-70 lens. The picture was taken handheld as the corridor was pretty tight.Inspiration
I love old, abandoned and falling apart.Editing
I play around with Photoshop a lot. My favorite post processing is Photomatix. I can take an image from ordinary red to "Wow, that's RED!!"In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D700 that is my go to camera. I have a 24-70 lens and a 105 lens that I mainly use.Feedback
If you can find the beauty in things that others might find ugly, take the shot. According to Margaret Wolfe Hungerford, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is a lot of personality in worn down things. It took a while for it to look different than everything else. Now it's completely unique.
