Location
This photo was taken on a remote island in Myanmar. I was on a dive trip to Myanmar and as part of the trip we distributed old glasses to a sea gypsy community on the island. While all the village were gathered round the distribution of glasses in the local temple, I spotted this monk watching proceedings from this perch.Time
It was lateish afternoon and the colour contracts of the bright orange against the dullish colour of the surrounds caught my eye.Lighting
Lighting was pretty straight forward as it was an overcast day with no direct sunlight to challenge taking the shotEquipment
A Canin 5D Mk11 with 70-200mm lensInspiration
The way the monk was observing procedeings almost aloof and removed caught my interest and the obvious colour contracts added to the shotEditing
A simple crop was all i did hereIn my camera bag
This was a diving trip so the go camera is the Canon 5D Mk11 as it is what I have a housing for, my land based lens on dive trips is always the 70-200mm lens but for diving I had a 100mm macro lens and a 17-24mm wide angle zoom lens. I use `ikelite housing and strobes under water.Feedback
Sourh East Asia is the place to go for any type of monk shots, just do not invade privacy
