Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a photostudio in Belgium.

Time

Time of day... is not really relevant when working indoors with artificial lights.

Lighting

Just 1 light setup, as I did not want any light behind the white face

Equipment

Nikon D800

Inspiration

The title for this photo should have been 'Sari & Bintou'. We wanted to work with a lot of contrast between light and dark skin. Sari has already quite a light skin tone, so the contrast with the dark skin from the hands of the second model, Bintou was what we were shooting for.

Editing

Yes, while color toning I was able to darken Bintou's skin even more.

In my camera bag

I now have always the D850 with Nikkor 85mm f1.8 in the bag. I love using the Sigma 135mm f1.8 wide open, even in the studio. The Tamron 24-70mm is also with me in the studio...

Feedback
