Recording Session

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my bedroom that was set up as a studio for this shoot.

Time

This was taken around 9:30pm with no outside lighting.

Lighting

I used a ring light flash as well as a single photo light with a diffuser.

Equipment

I used a canon xsi with a 50mm 1.8 canon lens with a ring light flash.

Inspiration

I have always enjoyed looking at this type of photography and wanted to try it. The model is a long time friend of my wife and she was willing to do these as my first attempt at artist portraits.

Editing

I used a cross-process but not much else.

In my camera bag

My canon xsi 50mm canon 1.8, 75-200 canon and a 500 mm mf lense.

Feedback

Just trial and error. As I stated earlier, this was my first attempt at anything like this so take shot after shot of you have the luxury of time. Most of all have fun and keep a loose yet professional setting.
