Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the lock bridge near Ottawa University in downtown Ottawa.

Time

the time of day was the afternoon

Lighting

I didn't use any lighting techniques in the photo. It is all natural light

Equipment

The camera I used was a Panasonic Lumix G2. The lens is 100-300 mm lens

Inspiration

I was looking for something to shoot that had depth and a lot of meaning. I love how this photo turned out because every lock that is locked to this bridge tells a story.

Editing

I did some editing on this photo yes. I use pic monkey to edit all my photos. Pic monkey is free editing site that you can also buy different upgrades on but I just use the free trial. The only editing I did was the focusing on the one lock with the heart on it to represent the fact that each lock has its own love story. So the photo focuses on that one section and I made everything else a little blurred. I'm just happy that people love this photo as much as I do. It really means a lot that people enjoy my work. I am very appreciative.

In my camera bag

The equipment I usually carry is the Panasonic 100-300 Lens, a Panasonic 14-42 lens, 45-150 lens, a tripod, and I also have a mounted flash that I use sometimes.

Feedback

Hmm advice for others, I would say have patience and shoot everything because you never know when that "perfect" shot will happen. That's the thing that I love about photography, there is no such thing as a bad photo. If it's not up to your standards, you can delete it and try again or even edit it so it looks better. This shot was not the first try, I took maybe 50 photos of that lock bridge, moving to a different angle each time until I got the photo I liked. Here I am, talking about the photo for a blog, which is super cool. Thank You
