This has to be one of the most NATURAL looking portraits I have seen in a very long time - mind you I am recalling your portraits are excellent. I saw the image on the Inspiration page and was immediately drawn to her natural beauty. I love her 'smokey eye make up' that truly compliments the amazing colour of her eyes. You are an inspiration to me. I have not done much of this kind of work and I know it will take many years before I ever come near the Level you are at. Voted Image of the Month if I'm not too late!

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo around a little lake near of Montpellier in France.
Time
That was sundown. We can see it by the temperature on her face. As usual, best time on the day to shoot!
Lighting
I really wanted to see every shapes on her face. So I chose to put my model in order to have great luminosity contrasts on her skin.
Equipment
That was shot with a Nikon D5300 and the 90mm Di Macro F/2.8 lens from Tamron.
Inspiration
I just had this idea in mind for a while. This continues my series on faces and scarfs. My inspiration comes from what I did before.
Editing
Of course I do. I have done some basic skin processes like (macro and micro) dodge and burn and split frequency. Then I took care of the shapes by using a bit the liquify tool on her scarf to add the movements I wanted. I have processed the eyes of course (light, contrasts, sharpness...).
In my camera bag
I haven't got any bag because that's too expensive. So I often carry my lenses in my pocket (lol dat homeless feeling). And to reply, I always have my Nikon D5300, my 50mm f/1.8 and the 90mm f/2.8.
Feedback
The strenght on this portrait is the piercing gaze she has. You can't add it on Photoshop, you just could improve a bit the gaze and that's all. The important part here is at the shooting by your composition and the model directives as always.
