Location
This shot was taken in Cannon Beach, Oregon.Time
It was a rare cloudless night at the coast. About 10:30 pm I decided to take a stroll to see what I could see. This is my first attempt at capturing the Milky Way.Lighting
If you are shooting at night, take a flashlight with you. It was a tough trek across the beach in the pitch black.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon 5d Mark II, tripod mount, 30 second exposure.Inspiration
I have always wanted to photograph the Milky Way, as my luck turned out the night was perfect.Editing
I am an amateur especially with Photo Shop. I processed this to enhance the blue and to bring out the lights of the Milky Way.In my camera bag
Cannon 5d Mark II, the lenses I carry are a 16mm-35mm, a 24mm-105mm and a 100mm-400mm.Feedback
Watch the calendar for a moonless night, watch the weather for a clear night, (not too many of those in the Pacific Northwest), get away from the city to a remote location.
