Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my garden, It was my first serous attempt at close up's

Time

It was taken mid morning, at the beginning of summer, I'm in Australia

Lighting

I wasn't quite aware of how lighting worked so much when I took this photo. The plant was in full sun so I did notice how the light made the center stand out from the darker petals. which I thought was very appealing to the eye.

Equipment

My camera is a Nikon 510, really a learners Camera I guess. Free Hand, No Tripod. pretty much an experimental photo.

Inspiration

It's an odd looking plant, a succulent with thick weave stems, but the flower is pretty as you can see, It's one of my favourites.

Editing

No post processing, Totally Unedited, I thought it was great the way it turned out

In my camera bag

Not much I'm still very much a learner. I carry my Nikon 510, a spare battery and power cables, My JVC video camera and a 7'' tablet. I also have a small Nikon Coolpix Camera in my hand bag.

Feedback

As I said I'm still very much a learner myself, My experience was to start simply by experimenting, with full sun and shaded photo's and flash use of the same item, and with the learning with the effects on my 510. I looked at photo's in Magazines to try to emulate. To look at my chosen image as if it's already on your wall in full colour and definition. Using my focus to single out the individual part of the image of the photo I wanted to create. There is so much to learn, join View Bug, talk to the Professionals. "Just do it" Happy snapping. thank you Maureen
