Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in a very nice walking, leisure park in Calgary, AB. we had a do a little adventuring off the path to find this gem of a location though.

Time

This was taken mid afternoon approximately 2:00pm in October, 2015. It was a day that was off and on clouds.... enough warmth to keep comfortable, but more importantly perfect clouds to take great shots.

Lighting

This shot I was lucky to have the perfect amount of cloud masking the harsh sunlight.

Equipment

This shot was taken with my Canon mark II with a 24mm-70 lens... no tripod, just me moving around finding the right angle.

Inspiration

The bride, groom and myself took a walk before the day of the wedding, to get some ideas and start getting the creative juices flowing. When we came across this bridge and seen how beautiful the scene was we knew we had a do a little adventuring off the path to get this shot!!

Editing

Yes, really all I did was sharpen up the photo and add a little bit of texture to the background. I really didn't need to do much to this scene.

In my camera bag

My camera (Canon 60D usually), an extra charged battery, extra memory cards, lens cleaner, external flash and kleenex!!

Feedback

My biggest advice would be take a look at the area that you will be shooting in before the shoot if possible, you will find so much more creative shots when you look before the day of the shoot. Don't be afraid to do a few different shots and angles, this one was probably one out of 20 or so taken.
