This image was taken after an exhausting (for us Aussies) hike of the Nublet.. overlooking the magnificent Mt.Assiniboine, BC, Canada... and what a place to stop for a break...- The Nub Peak is a popular non-technical destination for hikers visiting the Lake Magog area of Assiniboine Provincial Park. With an elevation of just over 9000 feet, it offers eye-popping views of Assiniboine as well as Cerulean, Sunburst, and Magog Lakes below.Time
Judging by those shadows.. I'd say probably around midday.. I think we started off around 8am or earlier.. and that was probably after about 3hrs vertical climbing... LOL...Lighting
It was a beautiful crisp spring day in the Rockies... the lighting was harsh high noon...the lakes below were blue and sparkling (tho freezing to my Aussie feet).Equipment
Camera: NIKON D3100 Hand held - taken from a lying position (my legs wouldn't go any further LOL)Inspiration
OMG.. the sheer beauty of this view and surrounds... was totally breathtaking...everyone threw their backpacks down and just sat in awe and silence and took it all in...Editing
No.. very little was done to this image... probably except straighten it a tad... as I have to with ALL my images unfortunately - one day I'll shoot straight! In my camera bag
I don't regard myself as a "photographer" so I don't have a bag, as such... my camera is always at the ready, usually on my desk or bench behind me - at best, I use a soft PJ bag before it gets thrown in my backpack - I use the one zoom lens always - 28mm-200mm - I'm a creature of habit - and just love taking photos at my own "granny" pace...I've always documented my life and surrounds through my camera - since I was a child.Feedback
No advice... just enjoy the details around you, it's all intricately woven; keep observing and viewing life from many standard as well as unique angles - go behind the subject sometimes to get a different perspective - but most of all enjoy the process, never stop wandering, wondering and observing!
