Behind The Lens
Location
this honey Bee photograph was taken in the grounds of an old victorian manor house in Brighton, UKTime
it was 3 pm in the afternoon.Lighting
the Sun needed to be high overhead to be able for me to get full down light on the subjectEquipment
I used a finepix pro with an adapted macro lens, I have been experimenting with different chemicals on old lenses, this particular lens has a coating of superglue fumes between lens and macro attatchment, which created an purpulish hue and increased the light captured.Inspiration
i have been working as a photographer for a local Bee farm and became fascinated with the social structure and natures design of Bees and their hivesEditing

canon 1000d eos rebel with 70-300mm and 50mm lens, gopro hero± and a canon hd handycam.Feedback
learn your subject, the more you know the easier it will be to convey the message within the photograph, Bees in particular adjust very well to humans being in close to their hives if the photographer is patient and exhibits no fear, wear white or bright colors as Bees always strike at black colors when defending, and never run or flail your arms if you feel in danger, walk calmly away with your hands by your side.
