This photo was taken in this bride to be's bedroom. I literally jumped up and down when I walked in and saw the 3 floor to ceiling windows and the incredible warm light that was bouncing all over the room! I only though I would take a couple shots in her bedroom but we ended up shooting for over an hour in there! She was so excited to get to show off her veil before her actual wedding and loved the idea of including it in her intimate session which, was a wedding gift for her groom. She felt so comfortable in her own room and this gave so much aid to this shot! Intimate sessions usually take a little extra time to help boost the confidence of your subject but her? She was ready to try anything in her own four walls. It also helped that she had gotten the room ready to bring her groom home to after the wedding.Time
We set up around 3PM and began shooting around 330.Lighting
I really wanted to bring out the natural creaminess to the brides skin and invite the viewer to get lost in a almost blown out and dreamy exterior- hoping to draw the eye to all the little details of her skin. The white sheets and cream walls aided so much in bouncing a very pleasing light.Equipment
I used a canon 7D with a 85mm lens .Inspiration
I really wanted to capture the anticipation and shyness a new bride can have - and the veil has always been such a perfect aid to capturing a blushing brideEditing
Nothing much! I adjusted the skin tones slightly to reflect her natural complexion but that was it.In my camera bag
I am never without my 85mm . We do great things togetherFeedback
You can't complement enough! The key to getting a genuine shot in a intimate session is making sure your client feels comfortable and confident and proud in their own skin. Thought out complements and specific instruction goes a long way .
