Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot at serenity library which is located 35 kms from my house. It's famous for macro photography(for butterflies, bugs, catterpilars).I was searching something different from mass as people were busy shotting with bugs and dandelions. And suddenly i foound one pond in which pink lotus was grown very well and i get this shot.

Time

usually i shot at golden hours.i took my car and reach there at six o clock in the morning.I firmly believe lighting is an most important parameter to capture good images. In early morning light was not too harsh and in golden color so helped me to capture this image more in a artistic way.

Lighting

i have to lay down on a wet surface to get a eye level shot.As light was coming from behind i didn't want any obstacle(even myself).it was easy for me to go other side lay down and shoot but again it was against the light.so i have to lay down at a proper place from where light comes in a perfect way.

Equipment

i am an amateur photographer.i am using Nikon d 3200 and Nikon 18-200 mm lens. But i believe that with basic set up u can get amazing results.people with 5 d mark two and Nikon D4 was busy capturing bugs and caterpillars and i shot this lotus with pretty basic set up in a crop sensor camera.

Inspiration

Honestly saying windows seven inspired me to click this kind of image.I want my clicked image as a wallpaper.so i was searching for good flowers and luckily i found this one.

Editing

Yes i always do post-processing.I am using adobe light room for it.I do pretty basic adjustments like exposure, color tones etc.Now coming back to this image to get this pinkish background effect i used split toning.it's a very powerful tool to get artistic type images and playing with highlights and shadows.

In my camera bag

I am a Nikon fan boy.I am using only Nikon products. In my bag you can found Nikon d 3200 and Nikon d 5200 bodies. In lens section you will find 18-200 Nikon lens and 35 mm Nikon prime lens.Sometimes i used ND filters when i shooting landscape. It's my personal opinion that we should not switch brands.we can get good results in any brand of camera we are using.

Feedback

observe observe and observe i would like to say my view bug members.travel and explore the places which is nearby to your town or city.Keep shooting this is the only way you can get something different.Never miss golden hours its applicable to all day light photography whether you do landscape or portraits or streets. This is the ideal time to shoot.
