Behind The Lens

Location

This Photo was taken on a morning cycle to work along the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Time

This was taken around 730am

Lighting

This is the perfect time to take calm bright pictures of the canals of Amsterdam. Just after sunrise and around every bend the colours would change slightly. Also the waters are calm as no boats had been on them overnight

Equipment

Canon 18-55mm F3.5 Standard kit lens ( before i upgraded to the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 )

Inspiration

The beauty of the canals on mornings in Amsterdam, Sure beats motorways and heavy traffic

Editing

Nothing has been altered, not even in lightroom for this picture

In my camera bag

Along with my Tripod and remote shutter controller i have my Canon zoom Lens but my main go to lens is now the Sigma 18-35 F/1.8. Also never knowing how long you are out for, a couple of spare batteries and SD cards.

Feedback

Look for water, whether that be rain puddles, lakes or canals. Up early before anything can affect the calmness of the water and get your angle right to be able to show both the reflection and the objects. Look for some interesting to make that picture special
