We took a volunteer party to Lot's Wife's Ponds to fix a rope to help with the final descent down to the ponds. The ponds are separated from the Atlantic Ocean by thin sills of volcanic rock. The seas were heavy when we arrived and the waves smashed against the rocks as we worked.
