Behind The Lens

Location

I was waiting for a train in Newark, NJ's Penn Station. It was a snowy day, which is why the photo looks granular.

Time

It was early afternoon. The snow had just started to get heavy, and because the rails are uncovered, the snow was coming through.

Lighting

Lighting was actually quite decent, and plays into my style of photography which is heavy with shadows.

Equipment

This was actually taken on my iPhone, and edited using GIMP. Freehand shot, no tripod.

Inspiration

The bird in the middle of the photo. I found it funny; a bird waiting for a train.

Editing

Not much, converted to black and white, sharpened the photo a bit, and cropped to center the bird in the photo.

In my camera bag

My equipment isn't impressive. I use a Nikon P100 for a lot of my stuff. Otherwise I do use my phone a lot, and edit tastefully on the computer.

Feedback

Shoot what inspires you, shoot with your heart. If you think it's beautiful, then it is. Don't let others dictate what and how you shoot.
