with newborns I always have my macro lens for close ups! my trusty 50 mm, and something with a little range - my 35-70mm is good for this so i can quckly get the shots and angles i want with each pose before baby wakes up or moves.Feedback
I always have a meeting with the parents before hand to get a general idea of what they are looking for, then I put together the session bit by bit in my head. it is always like a dream or vision. I find what i need and make it a reality. sometimes, like this, less is so much more.
