Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken up near the Pagoda, a Landmark of Reading, PA.

Time

This was taken on a sunny afternoon. Hubby and I were amazed with the background of clouds on the blue skies. It was a side angle shot, which gave it more dimension. It has a huge star on the front side, which is lit, around the holiday season.

Lighting

The sky behind this image made it a beautiful backdrop to this gorgeous picture.

Equipment

This was a snapshot, taken on my Samsung Galaxy 5 phone.

Inspiration

We were visiting the Pagoda, in Reading, PA, and as we were driving up the mountain, this structure caught my eye, especially with the old Stone construction and wall in front of it. Across from it was the Pagoda and a Stone wall with a lookout over the city. It is stunning, up on the mountain.

Editing

I zoomed in on the actual photo and cropped it.

In my camera bag

I used to carry my camera, bag, etc. But, with the camera on my phone, the possibilities are endless. And, of course, less items to carry with me. I used to be a Studio Photographer/Manager for several years until retiring from work. I miss those days. Now, I make every effort to photograph my surroundings, when possible. I will always have the love of Photography in my heart and life.

Feedback

Be patient, find the right angle, and try to make your photo tell a story. Whether it be the background, the beauty of the image or making a memory....every picture tells a story. Example: A person does not have to be smiling in a photo..some of my favorite photos taken are a simple moment in time, showing innocence or comfort. I, also, have a favorite photo of the Pagoda in black & white. Beauty can be found anywhere, in Nature, Landmarks, People and basically any situation.
