Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Gour Malda, which is situated in West Bengal, India

Time

This is probably one of my favourite images. It was taken in the morning when this historical monument has just opened for Visitors

Lighting

I wanted to play with the beautiful patterns of domes, and create an image which tells the story of the beautiful ancient architectures of India. I also wanted to capture the mysteries these ancient structures hold in itself as they have been a witness of time since eons

Equipment

I used a Canon 700D, and a 18-135 mm lens. Nothing else was used

Inspiration

I wanted to show the hidden architectural gems of India which is lesser known to the World, yet beautiful. And hence came across this place called Gour Malda to frame it for the World to see

Editing

I used very basic editing. The frame did not have any dominant color presence. Hence edited it in black & white

In my camera bag

These days, I use a Canon 5D and a 1.4, 50 mm prime Lens

Feedback

I would suggest let the place and the ambience absorb you first. And then you feel the place, and then try to dwell into its memories in order to create your own story in the frame. Let yourself dwell into the vibe of the place, and let yourself to succumb on it. And then you portray the frame what you feel from it
