This is a great, would superb if the contrast and saturation could be bumped up a little.

Location
Photo taken in my hometown of Pangnirtung, Nunavut, Canada. With some fresh snow on the ground to soften the image a bit. The Aurora seemed to be touching down at the end of the river.Time
I am usually rushing when I see the Northern Lights out. Getting my cameras, tripods and making sure I am dressed properly to withstand the cold. I love the rush it gives me only to stand around for hours as my cameras do their work. I also love the anticipation of seeing the photos on my screen. In winter darkness the Aurora can be seen mid afternoon until the early hours of the morning.Lighting
I usually have a constant fight with the lights from the town as set my camera up for the Aurora. It is difficult to find a happy medium at times.Equipment
Whenever possible I use 2 cameras on tripods each and wide lens, 14-24.Inspiration
The Aurora are always presenting something new each time they are out. Finding the right perspective is a challenge in getting the right photo.Editing
I try to get my Aurora shots as good as I can get them in-camera. This minimizes post-processing but some are inevitable. In my camera bag
I usually carry my Nikon D4 and my D800 with 14-24 and 24-70 lens. I will use flash if I am including people in my shots.Feedback
Find the camera settings that you are comfortable with. Each time may present different challenges. The moon will force you to change your settings as it is a great light source. You can however use the moon to your advantage if you want.
