Behind The Lens

Location

On a 4x4 trip on our way from Johannesburg to the West Coast, South Africa, we stayed overnight at African Vineyard Guest House situated in Keimoes. This lovely guest house borders some vineyards and their embankments are filled with this "vygie" plant, which has the most beautiful blooms. Vygie plants are indigenous to South Africa and are found especially in areas where one finds very little water and lots of sand. It's a hardy plant.

Time

Morning

Lighting

No flash used, only natural sunlight.

Equipment

Canon 450D camera with no flash, no tripod was used.

Inspiration

The beautiful colour of the flower inspired me, as one can seldom capture the true beauty in a photo or even in a painting. This is as close as it gets to what the human eye saw.

Editing

No post-processing was done.

In my camera bag

I carry a camera, extra lens (300 mm) and a flash

Feedback

Being a beginner, I can't offer advice. Can only say, take photos of what you enjoy to see and take photos of objects, people, or nature you wish the World to see, to give the World a glimpse into your own World. Enjoy photography!
