This photo is of Race Rock Lighthouse located on Race Rock Reef, a dangerous set of rocks on Long Island Sound southwest of Fishers Island, New York and the site of many shipwrecks. While cruises leave New London, CT to tour this and other lighthouses since Fisher Island though outside of Ct. it is part of NY making the address of this lighthouse Southold, NY Construction started in April of 1871 and took 7 years to complete. The lighthouse stands 46 feet tall.Time
This photo was taken during a ship tour o the lighthouses in the area between noon and 3pmLighting
No special lighting this day. The weather was perfect and the sun was nice enough not to get in the way of my shotsEquipment
Canon Rebel T3i using a 70 to 210mm lensInspiration
The location and my love for lighthouses inspired me to take this photo while on the Lighthouse cruiseEditing
No post processing was doneIn my camera bag
My bag usually contains my Canon Rebel camera 2 batteries and assorted size lensFeedback
Only advice I can offer is even if you can not always carry a camera like my Canon Rebel with you at all times. I suggest that you always have at least a point and shoot camera in your vehicle. You never know when you have the chance for a great photo shot
