The tractor looks incredibly imposing from that angle. Excellent choice of shot. And the black and white works really well.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this image at the winery that my wife and I got married. We often go back to the winery for wine tasting, photo opportunities and to reminisce on our special day.

Time

This was taken at about 3pm.

Lighting

I used no lighting for this image. It's all natural light.

Equipment

This shot was taken with a Nikon d3300 and a Tokina 11-16mm lens. The camera was set up on a tripod.

Inspiration

I love a grungy black and white image of old machinery, run down buildings and anything else old and interesting.

Editing

The image is actually 5 bracketed shots. They were merged in Photomatix and converted to B&W and mostly processed to how i liked it. Then, over in Lightroom I applied the finishing touches like dodge and burn, vignette etc.

In my camera bag

In my camera bag i always carry my 2 go to lenses, a Nikon 50mm and my Tokina 11-16mm. I also carry a 55-300mm lens and the 18-55mm kit lens. You will also find a variety of square filters and holder, a set of extension tubes, lens cleaning equipment, a Triggertrap, a cable release, spare batteries and memory cards. This is generally all I need for a most situations when I'm out and about.

Feedback

Look for ineresting things when you are out. I'm always looking for old and rustic looking subjects for my next shoot. Find an interesting angle to shoot from and always use a tripod where possible. Also use the widest lens you have to give an interesting point of view.
