Location
This photo was taken on April 1, 2016 in my front garden. I'm a self-taught photographer and was hoping to capture a ladybird in a different perspective.Time
It was a sunny afternoon and I had taken my camera out in my front garden to capture the colourful plants and I came across a ladybird. I placed the ladybird onto one of the purple plants to give it a different background and this is the result.Lighting
The lighting that day was very useful in capturing the colours and allowing the ladybird to shine.Equipment
This was shot using a Cannon Rebel and Sigma 105mm Macro Lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I had once watched a tv program of a photographer setting up props on a table. Using sheets of white paper for the background and placing small branches into a tepee style, he had found an insect and placed it onto the branch and allowed the insect to work as the subject. The end result of his photo was amazing but yet so simple. This inspired me to challenge myself to do the same but work with the natural outdoors and to my surprise, I captured the ladybird just as well as he did with the insect.Editing
