Location
This shot was taken on 6th Avenue near West 3rd Street in New York City's Greenwich Village West neighborhood.Time
I had just exited the underground subway around 10:00am and the early morning sun provided the exciting hues on the colorful buildings across the street on 6th Avenue. Not wanting to lose this great light, I sprang into action as quickly as I could to capture this colorful image.Lighting
To maintain the deep hues of the early morning summer sun lit buildings, I stopped down one full f stop on my Nikon digital camera.Equipment
This is a hand held shot taken with a Nikon D800 with a 24 - 85 telephoto lens.Inspiration
Greenwich Village in the early morning sun is a cornucopia of wonderful sights and colors everywhere you look. You find yourself clicking away as you walk around and find more and more interesting subject around each corner.Editing
I used post processing to enhance the color and create the distorted effect to catch the viewer's eye for a closer look.In my camera bag
Normally my Nikon D800 with a mono-pod. I try to travel light and focus on shooting and minimize using and changing lenses and other equipment.Feedback
My advise is to not be afraid of getting too close to your subject and to include people in your street shots as this will increase the vitality of your final image.
