Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at what used to be Love Smack Studios in Tucson, Arizona.

Time

This was taken in the mid-afternoon. The studio had a large skylight and the beams from the sun had moved away from the backdrop setup the model wanted to use.

Lighting

Used both my set of portable steady lights and the lighting the studio had, also steady lights. This was before I had access to or owned any flashes other than what was built into the camera.

Equipment

This shot was done with a Canon EOS Rebel T2i with a 18-55mm lens, and a tripod. No other equipment was used.

Inspiration

I was contacted by the model because she wanted to do a pinup shoot and had a location arranged. I had a done a few pinup shoots previously and jumped at the chance to do more, along the line of a Vargus.

Editing

There was some lite touch up work on skin imperfections using Portrait Professional. Other than that there was no other post processing.

In my camera bag

I always have my Canon EOS Rebel T2i with an 18-55mm and a 55-250mm lenses

Feedback

Positioning. Trying to do this shot standing or sitting just did not creat the right angle. I literally ended up laying on the floor to get the proper angle for this shot. So I guess be persistent, if the shot does not look quit right, keep fiddling with what you are doing and follow whatever gets you closer to the vision you are aiming for.
