Behind The Lens

Location

This flower was located in the garden of a friend of mine. I look forward every spring to get shots of her irises and other flowers. Her garden is lovely and never lacks for photo ops.

Time

Late morning. I was actually on my way out of town for a 'road-trip photo shoot' and decided to swing by her garden on the way. Was glad I did!

Lighting

A lovely sunny morning.

Equipment

Hand-held Olympus Pen E-PL1.

Inspiration

Her lovely garden which never fails to make me happy.

Editing

Just auto-color, auto-contrast and cropping.

In my camera bag

My Oly Pen E-PL1, 14-22 mm lens, 40-50 mm, filters, mini tripod and 3 or 4 charged batteries.

Feedback

Have fun. Remember, if you're using a digital camera, there's no film wasted. I just shoot what catches my eye. I love, love, love flowers and the insects associated with them. I have very bad knees, so many of my shots are actually taken from my car. Don't be afraid .... experience it. Nothing is more exciting than seeing things turn out the way you hoped they would. I basically take photos as something to help combat stress. When I'm out 'hunting' for photos, I get lost in that world.
